Background:

Costain Group is a leading UK engineering and construction company. It delivers solutions across infrastructure (highways, rail and airports); environment (water and waste); energy & process (nuclear, power, and hydrocarbons and chemicals). Increasingly they provide consultancy and maintenance as well as construction.

Challenge:

Companies that operate in the engineering & construction sector compete on many levels, including attracting the right calibre of talent, and keeping them sold!

Solution:

Costain invited us to participate in a 3-way pitch to create and manage their employee recruitment program, and to support their ongoing employee retention activities. The brief also included activities aimed at schools & colleges; to encourage students to consider construction & engineering as an exciting and rewarding career path, knowing that the industry was heading towards a serious shortfall in fresh talent.

Our response comprised: new recruitment strapline, creative & media proposals (press/online), graduate recruitment program (website/collateral/media), and a multi-school/colleges initiative called 'Building Awareness' (website/collateral/media).
