Background

Costain Limited, one of the UK's leading engineering & construction companies, has secured major projects with prestigious clients across the country creating some excellent career opportunities with long-term stability and growth.

Task

To reinforce Costain's position as an employer, who can offer rewarding and challenging careers within the construction industry - encouraging 'first contact' from both graduates and professionals.

Program

Clockwork IMC developed an integrated campaign designed to combine on-the-page visual impact with the use of colour and project photography. The strong corporate brand is further supported by the introduction of a new tagline, which appears under the Costain logo on all recruitment materials. The tagline, 'Where careers gather pace, not dust' reinforces the opportunity for rapid career development with Costain.

The program also employed our response monitoring system that directed respondents to a careers microsite. The monitoring system delivered valuable information about each journal's performance with respect to the level of online response.

Response

Costain has experienced a significant increase in applications from both graduates and professionals, and a recent joint venture Open Day exceeded its campaign target of walk-in visitors by 50%.
